ALBANY – Dennis “Denny” Robbins, age 87, Albany, died Tuesday April 11, 2017 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. Born in Eaton on January 28, 1930, he grew up there and was a graduate of Eaton High School where he played on the basketball team. He was a tool designer for Interstate Tool, Albany, and worked a thirty year career at Borg Warner, Muncie, before retiring. During that time he also worked at Chrysler. Denny was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and enjoyed golfing, fishing, and watching sports – particularly IU.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra E. Robbins; a son: Scott Robbins (wife: Carol), Whitestown; a step-son: Timothy Harshman (wife: Sandy), Daleville; two step-daughters: Michelle Harshman, Albany, and Deborah Harshman, Muncie; a sister: Norma Schlenker, Farmland; six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren with one more expected soon.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a son: Bruce Robbins.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2017 at Meacham Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Strong Cemetery with military rites provided by Veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
