ALBANY – Harold “Mus” Sheller, 93, Albany, died Thursday December 7, 2017 at home following an illness. Born in Delaware County on May 4, 1924, he graduated from Albany High School in 1942. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and a life member of American Legion Post 167, Albany, AmVets, Hartford City, and D.A.V., Muncie. Over the years he attended DeSoto United Methodist Church, Albany Bethel United Methodist Church, and Fairview United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Dunkirk Elks Lodge. Harold worked at Warner Gear, Muncie, for thirty-two years before retiring in 1975. He also worked for the Dept. of Natural Resources for five years at Lake Tippecanoe and was a former Boy Scout troop leader.
Survivors include two sons: Robert Sheller (wife: Debbie), Albany, and William Sheller (wife: Christy), Leesburg; a daughter: Stacey Morgan (husband: Jeff), Albany; two sisters: Martha Voigt (husband: Carroll), Carmel, and Uarda Hines, Albany; five grandchildren: Doug Morgan (wife: Jodi), Adam Morgan, Patrick Sheller, Caitlinn Sheller (significant other: Christian Heller), and Kelsey Sheller; also, eight great-grandchildren: Alana, Zachary, Tyler, Brooklyn, Kora, Lillith, Hunter, and Adilynn.
He is preceded in death by his wife: Dorothy Sheller, his parents: Robert & Alma Sheller, and three brothers: Robert Sheller, Richard Sheller, and Ervin Sheller.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Meacham Funeral Service. Private burial will occur Monday at Union Cemetery, DeSoto, with military rites provided by Veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
