William “Dale” Brenner, age 90, Albany, died Sunday Feb. 28, 2021 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital following an illness. Born in Dunkirk Oct. 23, 1930, he graduated from Redkey High School in 1948. Dale was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran and a recipient of the Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, 2 Overseas Bars, and the United Nations Service Medal. After serving his country, he worked at Warner Machine Products, Muncie, for 26 years. He also worked at T.E. Booher, Albany, did maintenance work at Albany Health Care, and was Pastor at East Jackson Street Church of God, Muncie, for 28 years. Dale enjoyed tending to his roses, traveling, and collecting coins & stamps.
Survivors include his son and daughter: Jonathan David Brenner (wife: Lou), Spokane, WA, and Deborah Christine Perrot (husband: Patrick), Whitehall, OH; grandchildren: Brian Brenner (wife: Courtney), Michelle Brenner, Kyle Rittenhouse (wife: May), John Verdine (wife: Kristen), Nicholas Verdine, Julia Perrot, and Joses Perrot; great-grandchildren: Konner, Kole, Abby, Kurt, Ben, Jacob, Micah, Lucah, Jayce, Jack, and Alivia; special niece: Karicia Jones (husband: Bruce) and great-niece: Maranda Russell (husband: Steve); special friend: Sue Cat, and spiritual daughter: Janeen Jarrell.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Julia G. Brenner; parents: Forrest & Iva (Spencer) Brenner, and sister: June Martin.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 2021 at East Jackson St. Church of God, Muncie. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with military rites by Veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard.
Visiting hours are Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Meacham Funeral Service.
