Vicky J. (Reasoner) Westlake, age 72, Dunkirk, passed away peacefully on Monday May 13, 2019 at her home surrounded by family and to the sound of her granddaughter singing. Born December 13, 1946 to Wayne & Marietta Reasoner, she grew up in Dunkirk and was a 1964 graduate of Dunkirk High School. She worked in numerous factories, became a real estate broker and tax preparer, and worked last at Jay County Hospital in Environmental Services. She also took time to be a homemaker and stay-at-home mom. Vicky was an avid sports fan, especially basketball. She loved the IU Hoosiers and followed them for many years. She also enjoyed fishing at her lake place and was very proud of her grandchildren – the light of her life. Her smile and laughter were infectious and it was her sense of humor that got her through some of the toughest times.
She married Timothy Westlake, Sr. on November 11, 1967; they were married fifty years and were truly soulmates. Also surviving is a daughter: Kristie (Westlake) Bullard (husband: Keith), Dunkirk; a son: Timothy Westlake, Jr.; four grandchildren: Vanessa Lee (husband: Dustin), Jacob Westlake, Zain Westlake, and Karlie Bullard; three great-grandchildren: Abram & Eden Lee and Isabella Westlake; a sister: Trudy Sullivan, Dunkirk, and special friend: Sharon Meacham, Dunkirk, who she always called sister. There are also several nieces & nephews that she loved very much.
Her parents are deceased.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2019 at Meacham Funeral Service. Entombment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be sent to the Dunkirk High School Legacy Scholarship Fund.
The family would like to thank IU Hospice for making her dream of coming home happen.
