Tyler Scott Cox, age 37, Albany, died unexpectedly on Monday November 6, 2023 in Portland. Born in Portland on March 24, 1986, he was a 2004 graduate of Jay County High School and had lived in Albany for the past several years. Tyler worked for Priority Plastics in Portland. He enjoyed fishing, building things, and loved doing activities with his girls.
Survivors include his wife whom he married in 2014, Krista Cox; daughters: Kailey and Makenzie Cox, Albany; father: John Cox, Jr. (wife: Amy), Geneva; mother: Barbara Wilburn (husband: Glen), Redkey; brothers: John Cox III, Albany, Gregory Cox, Muncie, Nathaniel Cox (wife: Jamie), Redkey, and Kyle Cox, Muncie; sister: Kysha Cox, Muncie; step-brothers: Glen Wilburn, Hartford City, and Anthony Harvey, Dunkirk; step-sisters: Alyssa Harvey, Allie Weekley, and Aleah Weekley, all of Dunkirk.
He is preceded in death by a step-brother: Dallas Wilburn and grandparents: Bill & Mary Pettus, John D. Cox, Sr., and Billie York.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, November 12, 2023 at Meacham Funeral Service with visiting hours on Sunday from 12 until 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation was chosen.
