Terry L. Rhoades, age 71, Albany, passed away surrounded by family on Friday January 22, 2021 at IU Health Methodist, Indianapolis, following an extended illness. Born in Muncie October 15, 1949, he grew up in Muncie and moved to Albany in the 1970’s. Terry graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1967 and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked for Muncie Coin Machines for 30 years before retiring in 2010. He also worked at Magic City Beverage and was a Teamster at one time. Terry always enjoyed spending time with his family, whether for a meal and some card games, attending his grandchildren’s sporting or other school events, or attending a family reunion. Terry was a member of the American Legion and was also an avid fan of the New York Yankees, Muncie Central Bearcats, and the Pittsburg Steelers.
Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Gail L. (Smith) Rhoades, and their adult children: Jennifer Pike (husband: Dan), Ridgeville, and Matthew Rhoades, Muncie; his mother: Eva Mae Rhoades Craig, Yorktown; 3 brothers: Robert Rhoades (wife: Mary), Parker City, Joseph Rhoades (wife: Sarah), TX, and Doug Rhoades (wife: Danielle), Seattle, WA; sister: Vickie Stafford (husband: William), Plainfield; 5 grandchildren: Katie Pike, Cole Pike, Matilyn Rhoades, Wilsen Rhoades, and Samantha Warpool; sister-in-law: Sheila King, Albany; uncle: Henry Rhoades, Muncie, and several nieces & nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father: William V. Rhoades, and a brother: John Rhoades.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Meacham Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with military rites provided by Veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard.
Visiting hours are Monday from 6 until 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
