Terry Ridgway, 66, Dunkirk, died unexpectedly at home on Thursday November 2, 2023. Born in Portland on April 23, 1957, he grew up in Dunkirk and was a 1975 graduate of Dunkirk High School. He also received an Associate Degree from Ivy Tech and attended Ball State University. Terry was a U.S. Navy Veteran and Journeyman electro-mechanic. He worked for 26 years at Ardagh, Dunkirk, before retiring in 2020. In earlier years he did carpentry and had worked at Sinclair Glass in Hartford City. Terry was a member of Local 96 and was a former member of American Legion Post 227, Dunkirk. He enjoyed woodworking, golfing, and (recently) RVing. Most especially, Terry loved being with his family and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Valerie L. (Sapp) Ridgway; sons: Jason Allen Ridgway (wife: Afton), Dunkirk, Christopher Lee Ridgway (wife: Stacey), Dunkirk, and Aaron Douglas Ridgway (wife: Theresa), Hebron; his mother: Daisy (Bivens) Myers, Dunkirk; brothers: Bruce Ridgway, Ontario, CA, David Ridgway (wife: Hannah), Selma, and Marc Myers, Dunkirk; sisters: Susan Duran (husband: David), Dunkirk, Teresa Hessong, Greencastle, and Rebecca Porter (husband: Ray), FL; grandchildren: Logan, Vasin, Leora, Varen, Asher, and Elise. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father: Jack L. Ridgway (and his wife: Barbara) and step-father: Richard “Dick” Myers.
Services will be 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Dunkirk Church of The Nazarene. Cremation will follow.
Visiting hours are Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the church.
