Sue “McKinney” Hall passed peacefully away from her life’s journey on July 8, 2021. The youngest daughter of the late Gerald and Clara McKinney of Albany, IN, Sue attended Albany Elementary and ultimately graduated Albany High School in 1963.
As a young woman, Sue enjoyed babysitting many of her beloved nieces and nephews, but also worked briefly at a canning factory before finally becoming a stay-at-home mother. In her later years, she also worked at the Yesteryear’s Inn in Redkey and enjoyed the camaraderie of her coworkers there immensely.
Sue was a passionate reader, card game enthusiast, and movie watcher. She was also a long-time member of the Integris Church of Albany, IN, where she greatly enjoyed the company of her fellow congregants and exploring her Christian faith. She was also known for having a delightful giggle.
Though a long-time resident of the Albany area, Sue also lived in rural Tennessee and counted many Southern friendships, including her very dear Sandra “Sissy” Vaughn.
Sue leaves behind daughter Amy Hall and son-in-law Scott Wells of Austin, TX, and the true apples of Sue’s eyes--her grandchildren, Duncan and Clara; beloved sisters Diana “Tunie” Kieffer (and brother-in-law Dave) of Hartford City, IN, and Rose Fisher (and brother-in-law Jerry) of Albany, IN; dear childhood friends Marsha Burghess of Garrett, IN, and Barbara Louis of Albany, IN; brother-in-law Bob Millikan of Dunkirk, IN; and countless beloved nieces and nephews spread across the country.
Sue is preceded in death by beloved sisters Evelyn Holloway, Wanda (Dowd) Cotton, Barbara Murphy, Mae Swartz, Linda “Peach” Reid, and Phyllis “Phid” Millikan.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Meacham Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Strong Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held Saturday from 1 until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be sent to Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
