RIDGEVILLE – Richard H. “Rich” Garringer, age 54, Ridgeville, died unexpectedly January 26, 2018 at home from natural causes. Born in Muncie on February 11, 1963, he was a lifelong resident of Randolph County and a 1981 graduate of Monroe Central High School. Rich worked for Ardagh in Winchester for the past twenty-three years as a machine operator in the hot end. Earlier in life he farmed in Randolph County. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and enjoyed camping, boating, traveling, country music, and watching football & NASCAR.
Survivors include his wife of twenty years, Kathy Garringer; two daughters: Shanna Noveroske (husband: Adam), Bruchmuhlbach-Miesau, Germany, and Shonda Howard (husband: Alex), Colorado Springs, CO; his mother: Joan Garringer, Redkey; a step-son: Ryan Lykins (wife: Breanne), Hendersonville, NC; a brother: Robert Garringer, Jr. (wife: Brigitte), Lewisville, TX; a sister: Cindy Keller (husband: Brad), Albany; four grandchildren: Felix Howard, Veda Howard, Lucy Howard, and Hayden Noveroske. His fifth grandchild is expected in May of this year.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert M. Garringer, Sr. who died in 2014.
A memorial service will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Meacham Funeral Service, 648 W. State St., Albany, IN. Private burial will follow at a later date.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday January 31, 2018 from 3 until 7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
