Rebecca S. “Becky” Greene, age 77, Albany, died Saturday December 18, 2021 at IU Health Blackford Hospital following an illness. Born in Muncie November 5, 1944, she was a lifelong resident of Delaware County. She graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1962 and was married to Claude Marion Greene, Jr. in 1963. Becky was a seamstress for 20 years before retiring in 2006. She owned & operated Betty’s Alterations and worked for Vogue Cleaners and Rivars. She belonged to Redkey Faith Ministries, American Legion Auxiliary (50+ year member), AmVets Auxiliary, and enjoyed doing custom sewing work and chair caning. Becky was full of love for her family, friends and Help The Hopeful. She gave from the heart to all those she encountered.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Claude Marion Greene, Jr.; 2 sons: Carl W. Greene (wife: Angie), Versailles, and Phillip M. Greene (wife: Diane), Hartford City; daughter-in-law: Amy Greene Jackson, Yorktown; 2 sisters: Teresa “Teri” Brown (husband: Mike), Muncie, and Diana K. Lear, Muncie; godson: Tim Yeakle, Marion; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Warren & Joan (Sheller) Trowbridge; son: David Lee Greene, and brother-in-law: Richard Lear.
A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Meacham Funeral Service. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
Visiting hours are Wednesday from 1 until 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
