Marcia Kay (Evans) Jetmore, 84, Albany, died peacefully and surrounded by family on Wednesday September 27, 2023 at home following an extended illness.
Born in Muncie on November 14, 1938, she was a lifelong Albany resident. She attended Albany High School and worked at the Albany License Branch for 25 years before retiring in 1998 as the branch manager. She was a member of Albany Christian Church where she taught Sunday school and was a youth group leader, Albany Tri Kappa (58 years), Euchre Club, Garden Club, 20th Century Club, and Albany High School band boosters (in the 1970s). Marcia was the first woman to serve on the Albany Town Board (1984-1987). She enjoyed watching her special “kids” play sports, cross stitching (she won a state award through Tri Kappa), reading, traveling and taking nature drives to look for wildlife; she especially enjoyed her special spot on the beach at The Outer Banks of North Carolina with family.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Bobby Jetmore; son: Steve Jetmore, Columbus, OH; brother: Larry “Butch” Evans (wife: Jody), Albany; sister: Paula Raines, Hartford City; brother-in-law: David Jetmore (wife: Marilyn), Dunkirk, sister-in-law: Sharon Meacham, Dunkirk, and special, like daughter and grandchildren: Joyce and Steve Hamilton, Kristen, Mat, Mati, and Chance McConnell, and David, Cierra, Hadley, and Hazel Fisher.
She is preceded in death by her parents: William H. & Geneva “Neva” (Brown) Evans; in-laws: Raymond & Louise Jetmore; sister-in-law and her husband: Donna & Glen Flick, and brother-in-law: Bill Meacham.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at Meacham Funeral Service with visiting hours from 10 until 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
