Linda A. (Gill) Grove, age 68, Leesburg, IN, died Tuesday September 7, 2021 at Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne, following a brief illness. Born in Muncie September 25, 1952, she grew up in Albany and lived in Greentown before moving to Leesburg in 2017. Linda graduated from Albany High School in 1970 and attended Vincennes University. She was the Liberty Township Trustee in Greentown for 12 years and was a homemaker. She attended St. Martin Catholic Church, Syracuse, IN, and was an active member of the General James Cox Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.) where she served as a past Regent and Historian. She enjoyed genealogy, sewing, and attending her local 3 Girls on a Pontoon book club. While living in Greentown she was involved with the Greentown Fire Dept. Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Kenneth L. Grove; daughters: Jennifer L. Knoblauch (husband: Nikolaus), New Haven, and Emily J. Summers (David Harrison), Greentown; brother: Richard R. Gill (wife: Shanna), Muncie; sisters: J. Catherine Bebout, Upper Montclair, NJ, and Janet H. Gay (husband: James), Hiram, GA; 4 grandchildren: Sarah & Hannah Summers, and Ayden & Lauren Jimmie; 1 great-grandchild: Remington Metzinger; nieces, and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents: James M. & Barbara (Joyce) Gill, and a brother: James R. Gill.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12 p.m. Saturday September 11, 2021 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Dunkirk. Burial will follow at Strong Cemetery, Albany, IN.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 5 until 7 p.m. at Meacham Funeral Service, Albany.
Memorials may be sent to Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.) or St. Mary Catholic Church, Dunkirk.
