Janette Zimmerman-Carroll

Janette Zimmerman-Carroll, 78, of Albany, IN died 9:08 p.m. Wednesday September 1, 2021 at IU Health Medical Center in Muncie, IN.  She was born September 22, 1942 in St. Marys, OH to James and LaVere (Becker) Zimmerman.  She attended St. Marys Memorial High School, until she was united in marriage with Edward Carroll, Sr., who survives.  Also survived by: son Edward (Patricia) Carroll of Daleville, IN; son Kenny Carroll of Albany, IN; daughter Annette Carroll of Royerton, IN; daughter Dana McEldowney of Albany, IN; daughter Carole (Kelly) Barber of Camden, SC; son Gregory “Scott” Carroll of Albany, IN; daughter Tammy Dunda of Grand Blanc, MI; daughter Brenda Carroll of Albany, IN; grandchildren: Nathaniel (Mandee) Carroll,  Danielle Carroll; Kim (Brad) Tweety; Brian and Damon Carroll, Justin and Nicole Carroll; Jimmy Carroll; Kaitlyn Osborne; Natasha, Andrea, Alicia and Nathan Barber; Cole and Sara Carroll; Stranton Mullins; Jordan Carroll; Kayla and Erika Dunda; Taylor and Karina Halberstadt; 29 great-grandchildren; sister Sharon Bayman of St. Marys, OH; brother Arthur (Jeri) Zimmerman of Tampa, FL; brother James (Shirley) Zimmerman of St. Marys, OH; brother Cloyd (Diane) Zimmerman of Bakersfield, CA; brother Bruce (Linda) Zimmerman of St. Marys, OH; numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: james and LaVere Zimmerman; granddaughter Brooke Carroll; brother Gary Zimmerman; sister Donna Selbey; sister Joy Lou Mobley; son-in-law Scott McEldowney.

Janette was a homemaker for her family of ten, raising eight children in the DeSoto area where she was also a Cub Scout and Brownie leader while also coaching girls’ softball. She then enjoyed employment at Midwest Metal Products before retirement, when she became a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and pursued hobbies of sewing, playing cards, dancing, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.

Rites are scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday September 12, 2021 at the Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West) in St. Marys.  

Visitation 2 - 6 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

In addition, services are scheduled to begin at 12:00 noon on Monday June 13, 2021 at Meacham Funeral Service, where the family will receive friends after 10:00 a.m.

Burial will follow at the Elm Ridge Cemetery in Muncie, IN.
