James M. Clanin, age 68, Albany, died Friday January 7, 2022 at home following an extended illness. Born in Muncie April 19, 1953, he grew up in Muncie and moved around over the years living in Jasonville and Logansport before moving to Albany in the mid-1990s. James was a union Bricklayer for several years before retiring. He belonged to the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local #4 and American Legion Post 167, Albany. He was a coin collector and enjoyed fishing, hunting, looking for arrowheads, mushroom hunting, and taking his dog, Itsy, for car rides.
Survivors include 2 sons: Jimmy Clanin (wife: Kim), Albany, and Keith Clanin (wife: Kelli), Eaton; 3 sisters: Nancy Dayton, Muncie, Judy Cook (husband: Gary), Anderson, and Karen Jones (husband: Ronnie), Selma; 3 grandchildren: Morgan Clanin, Logan Clanin, and Alexa Epperson; special friend: Valerie Nottingham.
He is preceded in death by his parents: James M. & Marjorie (Denney) Clanin; a brother: Larry Clanin, and special uncle: Bob Clanin.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday January 15, 2022 from 2 until 4 p.m. at Meacham Funeral Service. In accordance with James’ wishes, cremation was chosen.
