Gregg Dotson

Gregg Dotson, age 66, Dunkirk, died Thursday October 20, 2022 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.  Born in Union City, Indiana on April 8, 1956, he grew up in Union City, Ohio and was a 1974 graduate of Mississinewa Valley High School.  Gregg was a Firefighter, Emergency Medical Technician, and former Arson Investigator with Union City, Ohio Fire & Rescue.  He retired there in 2012 after serving nearly 35 years.  He also became a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked over 10 years at Albany Health Care & Rehabilitation Center.  Gregg was an active member of Dunkirk Nazarene Church where he served on the board and assisted with live streaming.  He enjoyed woodworking, camping, fishing, and time with family – especially his grandkids.

Survivors include his wife,  Michele Dotson; sons: Kristopher Dotson (fiancé: Michelle), Greenville, OH, and Robert Dotson (wife: Stephanie), Greenville, OH; daughters: Miranda Knight (husband: Timothy), Greenville, OH, Amanda Parrish (husband: Justin), Middletown, Miranda Hartnagel (fiancé: Charles), Middletown, and Sarah Hartnagel, Dunkirk; brothers: Jeff Dotson (wife: Cathy), Berne, and Kevin Dotson, Union City, OH; sister: Jeanette Dotson, Dayton, OH; 26 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandson.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Claude & Betty (Bemis) Dotson, brother: Mark Dotson, and nephew: Nicholas Dotson.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, October 24, 2022 at Dunkirk Nazarene Church with burial following at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Dunkirk.

Visiting hours will be held Monday from 12 until 2 p.m. at the church.
