Eugene Munday, age 90, Parker City, died Monday September 17, 2018 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. Born April 14, 1928 in Metcalfe County, Kentucky, he lived there until moving to Randolph County in 1969. He retired from Mutual Federal Savings Bank (now Mutual Bank) where he did maintenance work for several years before retiring in 1990. He also drove part-time for Ran-Del Fertilizer. Mr. Munday was a member of Prairie Creek Bible Baptist Church and was involved in a scripture publishing ministry known as Bearing Precious Seed. He was a hard worker and devoted husband that enjoyed a good joke and riding his John Deere mower.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-five years, Regina Munday; 3 sons: John Munday (wife: Carolyn), Eaton, Bruce Munday (wife: Karla), Dunkirk, and George Munday (wife: Shannon), Foley, AL; 2 daughters: Susan Ice, Muncie, and Martha Munday, Parker City; a sister: Zora Tharp, Louisville, KY; 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren with one on the way, and several nieces & nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Richard & Gussie Munday, 2 brothers: William Munday and Joseph Munday, and 3 sisters: Marcus Faulkner, Margaret Robertson, and Mary Chelf.
Services will be 3 p.m. Friday, September 21, 2018 at Meacham Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Strong Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 1 until 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the family to defray expenses.
