Claude Marion Greene, Jr., age 77, Albany, died Monday March 7, 2022 at his son’s rural Hartford City home. Born in Muncie August 21, 1944, he was a lifelong resident of Delaware County. He graduated from DeSoto High School in 1962 and was married to Rebecca S. “Becky” Trowbridge in 1963. Mr. Greene was a member of Carpenters Local 1016 where he retired after 33 years of service. Prior to being a carpenter, he worked 13 years as a lineman for Indiana Michigan Power. With his wife, Becky, they owned C-mor Lamp Co. and Amity Furniture Stripping. He enjoyed working with wood, wood carving, and belonged to Redkey Faith Ministries, Anthony Lodge No. 171, F. & A.M. (50+ year member), and AmVets.
Survivors include 2 sons: Carl W. Greene (wife: Angie), Versailles, and Phillip M. Greene (wife: Diane), Hartford City; daughter-in-law: Amy Greene Jackson, Yorktown; sister: Elaine Joy Myers, Muncie; godson: Tim Yeakle, Marion; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Rebeca S. “Becky” Greene, who died in 2021; son: David Lee Greene; parents: Claude M. (Sr.) & Ruth L. (Powell) Greene; sister: Dova Rae Smith, and brother-in-law: Ray Myers.
A memorial service will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Meacham Funeral Service. Masonic rites will be given during the memorial service. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
Visiting hours are Thursday from 4 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
