Carolyn Sue Padgett

Carolyn Sue “Sissy” Padgett had a long adventurous travel, traveled to her final destination and went to her eternal reward on Monday, April 17, 2023, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. Born December 10, 1966, in Portland, Carolyn grew up in Dunkirk and attended Jay County High School. After graduation in 1985, she held a variety of jobs, including most recently as an Uber driver where she endeared herself to a great number of passengers.

Carolyn loved to travel (especially to visit friends and family in multiple states TX, NC,AL,TN, KY). She enjoyed penny shopping, dumpster diving, and bin store exploring. She frequently converted her good deals into a modest profit through rummage sales and Facebook marketplaces.

Carolyn was an excellent cook and often used this talent to bless others. She spent her life serving people, especially the elderly, the hurting, and the broken. She attended Sound The Alarm/LifePoint Church.

Carolyn was extremely proud of the hard-working and dedicated mother that her daughter has become. As a “grandma,” she enjoyed countless hours with her grandsons entertaining and being entertained and recorded a multitude of memories with photos and videos.

Survivors include her parent: Roy (Wanza) Padgett and Marilyn (Danny) Howard; one daughter: Tenara Brodzik (Adam); three grandsons: Rayden, Joseph, and Israel Brodzik; four brothers: Roy Jr. (Kim) Padgett, Tim (Rachel) Padgett, Michael (Dedra) Padgett; Rob (Amy) Padgett; eleven nieces and nephews: Shelby and Cheyenne, Sara and Hana, Carissa, Lauren, and Andrew, and Kaitlin, Kailor, Kinkaid, and Kooper; and seven godchildren: Rebekah, Kayla, April, Amber, Fannie, Ashleigh, and Donyez.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents: Gaylord & Vonona Spaulding, paternal grandparents: AG & Avo Padgett, and her two angel babies.

Services will be held on Friday, April 21 at 7:00 p.m. at LifePoint Church (3100 E McGalliard, Muncie) with Revs. Michael Padgett, Joe Prewitt, and Ronnie Pierce officiating. Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 on Friday at the church. Private interment will be held at Dunkirk IOOF Cemetery. Meacham Funeral Service in Albany is in charge of arrangements.
