Carol D. Capper, age 74, Albany, died Tuesday December 14, 2021 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital following an illness. Born in Muncie July 17, 1947, she grew up in Albany and graduated from Albany High School with the class of 1965. Carol worked at various branches of First Merchants Bank, including in Eaton, for 35 years before retiring in 2009. She loved animals and was her mother’s caretaker for several years.
Survivors include her partner: Jerry Watson, Albany; 2 nieces: Amy J. Evans (husband: Tony), Albany, and Jennifer L. Dempsey, AZ; 2 nephews: Shawn Watts (wife: Peggy), Galveston, TX, and Trent Watts (wife: Jennifer), Austin, TX; brother-in-law: Jim Hobson, Albany; sister-in-law: Linda Watts, Austin, TX; 2 step-daughters: Kristy Finley, IN, and Stacy Phillips, CO.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas M. Capper; parents: Rigdon & Mary (Coahran) Watts; brother: Charles A. Watts; 2 sisters: infant Claudia Jean Watts and Marjorie A. Hobson.
The family will have a private graveside service at Strong Cemetery.
