Blake Adam Lucy

Blake Adam Lucy, age 34, Albany, died Sunday December 4, 2022 at home following a brief illness.  Born October 2, 1988 in Sikeston, Missouri, Blake grew up in Petersburg and Albany.  When he moved to Delaware County as a 6th grader, he quickly made a great and lifelong friend who became something of a hero – Dr. Aric Jordan Moran (Charlottesville, VA) who was the namesake of his firstborn son.  Blake was a 2007 graduate of Delta High School and also attended Anderson University.  He loved high school and college wresting.  At Delta, he was a 4-year varsity letterman in wrestling and was a 3-year county champion.  He attended East 16th St. Church of God, Muncie, was a great N.B.A. fan, and a super-fan of the Saint Louis Cardinals – to the regret of his Cubs fan friends.  Blake loved competition of any kind (especially sports and video games) and loved the chance to win and OFTEN enjoyed the thrill of victory.  Blake worked in construction and enjoyed seeing a project go from start to finish.  The great loves of his life were his children; he loved being a dad and loved them all so much.  He considered his children his greatest gift.

Survivors include sons: Aric Jay Lucy, Muncie, Hayden Michael Lucy, Muncie, and Maverick Tyler Lucy, Albany; daughter: Lylly Crabtree, Anderson; parents: Pastor Douglas C. & Deena Lucy, Albany; sisters: Tara L. Lucy, Albany, and Allison P. Adams (husband: Eric), Albany; nieces & nephews: Savannah and Parker Burgess, Abel and Charlotte Lucy-Bell and Luca Adkins, Emma, Isaiah, Joel, and Everly Adams, all of Albany.

He is preceded in death by his brother: Jordan Tyler Lucy; paternal grandparents: Richard Lucy and Dorothy White; maternal grandparents: James & Loretta Brase, and cousins: Jacob Brase and Griffin Brase.

Cremation was chosen.  A gathering for family and friends will be held at a later date.
