Ada Mae Stevenson

Ada Mae Stevenson, age 94, Muncie, died Monday March 21, 2022 at Westminster Village.  Born in Letts, Indiana on September 23, 1927, she lived near Columbus and Cory, Indiana for several years.  She graduated from high school in Columbus, Indiana and received a bachelor’s degree in English from Indiana State Teachers College.  Ada Mae taught English at Ivy Tech in Terre Haute for five years and was a mother & homemaker who enjoyed living on her family farm in Clay County.  She enjoyed gardening (vegetable and flower), canning, and crocheting.  While living in Muncie she attended University Christian Church when she was able.

Survivors include sons: Bruce L. Stevenson (wife: Alice), Columbus, OH and Mark S. Stevenson (wife: Joyce), Carmel; daughter: Rita A. Bowman (husband: Jeff), Muncie; grandchildren: Doug Stevenson (wife: Karen), Brian Stevenson (wife: Krista), Kevin Stevenson (wife: Laura), Jeff Stevenson (wife: Sarah), Nathan Bowman, B.J. Bowman (wife: Audra), Kendra Misbach (husband: Ryan), Ryan Bowman (wife: Julie), and Logan Baker; great-grandchildren: Max, Ava, Sam, Ruth, Kevin, Devyn, Brayden, Layna, Patrick, Wesley, Levi, Kaylee, Madison, Aubrey, Hannah, and great-great grandchild: Amelia.

She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-one years, Robert Glenn Stevenson, who died in 2011; infant son: Douglas Allen Stevenson; grandson: Matthew Bowman, and her parents: Frank A. & Neva E. (Cheever) Burgess.

The family will have a private graveside service at Oak Hill Cemetery in Riley, Indiana.  Cremation was chosen.
