KANSAS CITY, MO – Former Delaware Co. resident Wilma L. Vorhees, age 52, was born Sunday Jan. 15, 1961 in Stearns, KY.  She went home to be with the Lord on Monday June 10, 2013 following a sudden illness.  She was a very kind & humble soul who loved to read and spend time with family and always found the positive side to every situation.  She was a member of Westside United Baptist Church in Muncie and a 1979 graduate of Muncie Southside High School.  Wilma worked at Wise's Food Mart in Muncie for over 20 years and from there went to work for General Motors when she moved to Bosier City, LA, and then to Kansas City, MO where she passed away.  We rejoice in the knowledge that we will see her again when we reach our Heavenly Home.

Survivors include her husband, Michael Vorhees, whom she married on March 5, 1982, and their sons: Andrew & Austin Vorhees; her father: Clifford Gregory; 2 brothers: Eugene Gregory (wife: Robin) and Dale Gregory (wife: Tammy); a sister: Wanda Beckley (husband: Steve); mother-in-law: Janet Vorhees; brother-in-law: Randy Vorhees; sister-in-law: Karen Penny (husband: Dave); several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her mother: Delma Gregory and father-in-law: James Vorhees.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 17, 2013 at Meacham Funeral Service, Albany, with Pastor Larry Waters officiating.  Burial will follow at Jones Cemetery, Yorktown.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 3-7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
