William Sanders

September 20, 1930 – August 29, 2017
RIDGEVILLE – William Sanders (Junior), age 86, Ridgeville, died Monday night at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. Born in Randolph County on Sept. 20, 1930, he was a lifelong resident of the county. He graduated from Ridgeville High School in 1949 and worked for General Motors for thirty years before retiring in 1992. He farmed for several years in Randolph County and in earlier years was a milk man. Junior owned a motorcycle business in the late 1970's and was a 50 year member of Anthony Lodge No. 171, F. & A.M., Albany. He coached a women's softball team for several years and served as secretary of Avondale Sympathy Club since 1968.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-seven years, Josephine Sanders, and their children: Gale Sanders (wife: Mary Angela), Lewisburg, TN, Dale Sanders (wife: Julie), Helena, MT, Jeffery Sanders (wife: Stephanie), Columbia, TN, Tina Cummins (husband: Dave), Ridgeville, and Leann Reum, Albany; seven grandchildren: Brian Dillehay, Dawn Mosier, Megan Watson, Chelsea Sanders, Chance Sanders, Cody Reum, Jesse Reum, and nine great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William D. (Sr.) and Mildred (Cline) Sanders, and a sister: Betty Powers.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday September 2, 2017 at Meacham Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Reitenour Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home with Masonic rites provided by Anthony Lodge at 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
