Vera (Jeanie) Pavey, age 85, Dunkirk, died Saturday September 27, 2025 at Persimmon Ridge Rehabilitation Center, Portland. Born in Hartford City on March 9, 1940, she grew up in Hartford City and attended school there. She was a homemaker and had worked at Main St. Market, Dunkirk, Save-A-Lot, Hartford City, and Tyson Foods, Portland. In years past she was a member of Dunkirk Moose Lodge and an attendee of Dunkirk Calvary United Methodist Church and First Freewill Baptist Church, Dunkirk. Her pastimes included dancing, visiting lighthouses, and camping.
Survivors include two sons and two daughters, namely: Pam Long, Hartford City, Richard Long (wife: Shirley), Dunkirk, Terese Zirkle (husband: Doug), Hartford City, and Tim Kesler (wife: Phonnie), Eaton; five grandchildren: Gary, Johnathon, Rebecca, Jordan, and Cheyanne, as well as eight great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth Townsend and Ethel (Quillen) Holt.
There will be no public services.
