Obituary

Trudy Sullivan, age 81, Albany, died Sunday July 5, 2026 at home. Born in Portland on February 4, 1945, she grew up in Dunkirk and lived in Delaware County for several years. Trudy was a 1963 graduate of Dunkirk High School and attended Ivy Tech as well as Ball State University. She was a social services administrator at Miller’s Merry Manor in Hartford City for 15 years and worked in medical records at Jay County Hospital for several years before retiring. Trudy enjoyed attending class reunions, going to the lakes and fishing, knitting & crocheting, painting (watercolors), watching old shows, and attending sporting events that her kids and grandchildren were involved in.

Survivors include a daughter: Kimberly Smith (husband: Michael), Albany; son: Darrin Sullivan (wife: Rachel), Muncie; grandchildren: Landon Sullivan (wife: Angelica), Rylan Sullivan, and Derek Smith (wife: Sarah); great-granddaughters: Charlotte Kay “Charlie” Smith and Marcella Maria Sullivan; brother-in-law: Tim Westlake, Dunkirk; several nephews & nieces including Kristie Bullard (husband: Keith), Dunkirk, Timmy Westlake, Dunkirk, Jim Crawmer (significant other: Mary), Redkey, Nikki Crawmer, Redkey, and Michele Sanders, (husband: Gary), White Pigeon, MI; lifelong friend: Sharon Meacham, Dunkirk.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Charles James Sullivan III (Jim), who died in 2016; grandson: David M. Smith; father: Wayne E. Reasoner; mother: Marietta (Alvey) Hatch; sister: Vicky J. Westlake; in-laws: Charles (II) & Laura Fern Sullivan; sister-in-law: Shirley Crawmer, and niece: Rikki Edwards.

Visiting hours are Tuesday July 14, 2026 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Meacham Funeral Service followed by the funeral at 12 p.m.  Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to Southern Care Hospice.
