Tena Valentine, age 82, Albany, died peacefully on Wednesday July 1, 2026 at home. Born in Muncie on August 10, 1943, she grew up in Dunkirk, graduated from Dunkirk High School in 1962, and attended Muncie Business School. She worked for three years as a bookkeeper for Jordan Paper in Muncie and was a former Albany Health Care volunteer.

Tena was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles, reading, and tending to her garden. She and her late husband, Don, were active members of the Albany Lions Club during his lifetime.

Survivors include her daughter, Susan Bunch (husband: Roy), Dunkirk; three grandchildren: Ashley Hilfiker (husband: Dustine), Portland, Alexandria Heitkamp (husband: John), Portland, and Amber Lumpkin (husband: Scott), Middletown; ten great-grandchildren: Charlotte Hilfiker, Otto Hilfiker, Vivienne Hilfiker, Maria Heitkamp, Ricky Heitkamp, Gabe Heitkamp, Nolan Heitkamp, Gavin Street, Isabella Street, and Jasper Lumpkin; several nieces & nephews also survive.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Don Valentine, who died in 2021, and her parents: Estle & Catherine (Weaver) Wilson.

Visitation will be Tuesday July 7, 2026 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Meacham Funeral Service followed by the funeral at 1 p.m. Services will conclude with a committal service at Strong Cemetery prior to burial.

Memorials may be given to American Cancer Society.
