MUNCIE – Sid DeVoe, age 46, died Thursday February 17, 2011 following a sudden illness. Born in Muncie on December 3, 1964, he grew up in Albany and had lived in the Muncie area for several years. Sid was a caring son, loving husband, devoted father, and proud papaw. He was a self-employed construction worker – a trade he was involved in for most of his life – who enjoyed camping, fishing, and golfing.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Darlene DeVoe; a son: Brock DeVoe, Albany; a daughter: Nikki Robbins (husband: Kelly), Noblesville; a grandbaby: Payton Robbins, Noblesville; his parents: Max & Jeni DeVoe, Albany; a brother: Steve DeVoe (wife: Vanna), Muncie, and several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Dan DeVoe, who died in 2001.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday February 20, 2011, at Meacham Funeral Service, Albany. Burial will follow at Strong Cemetery.  Afterwards, a dinner will be held at the Albany Boy Scout Cabin; food may be brought there on Sunday.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday from 2 until 6 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
