ALBANY – Shirley M. Smith, age 70, Albany, died Monday morning at Jay County Hospital.  Born in Moorehead, KY on Jan. 9, 1942, she moved to Albany as a child and was a graduate of Albany High School in 1960.  She was a homemaker and was associated with Eaton Church of God.  Shirley enjoyed crocheting and reading.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Robert L. Smith; a son: Bradley Smith (wife: Robin), Albany; 3 daughters: Juliana Brummett, Sulphur Springs, Cindy Davis (husband: Jon), Hartford City, and Amanda Overla (husband: James), Hartford City; her father: Noel Sparks (wife: Rachael), Muncie; 7 grandchildren: Laura, Veronica, Adam, Nathan, Nathalie, P.J., and Tyler; 2 great-grandchildren: Austin and Mia; nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Edna L. Sparks.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at Meacham Funeral Service, Albany.  Cremation will follow.
