Sharon Brown, age 84, Muncie, was welcomed by Jesus at the gates of Heaven on Saturday September 12, 2026 at Signature Health Care. Born in Hartford City on December 6, 1941, Sharon grew up in Gaston and was a 1959 graduate of Gaston High School. She was a dedicated homemaker and attended True Light Baptist Church for many years. Sharon enjoyed sewing, reading her Bible, and being involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Clifford Clifton Brown, and their daughters: Gina Walker (husband: Bill), Parker City, and Bethany Cmar (husband: Greg), Albany; grandchildren: Dusty Walker (Tisha), Destiny Keith (Dustin), Emily Earls (Ryan), and Andrew Cmar (Jessie); great-grandchildren: Logan, Laura, Maddy, Aubrey, and A.J.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Eugene & Carrie (Burgess) Harvey.
The family would like to express extreme gratitude for the exceptional care provided to Sharon in her final days by Redcrest Hospice. Specifically, her nurses Lindsy and Lacey who ensured her comfort. Sarah, who greeted her each morning to start her day with a smile and made sure she was looking her best. Katie and Christy, who provided the family comfort and support during her final hours. Our gratitude can never by fully expressed. Additionally, Emily her granddaughter, also a nurse with Redcrest, remained by her grandma’s side reading and singing so she didn’t have to pass alone.
While our hearts are broken and missing her here, we take comfort knowing she is rejoicing in Heaven.
Visitation will be Friday September 18, 2026 from 12 until 1 p.m. at Meacham Funeral Service followed by the funeral at 1 p.m. Burial will take place at Matthews Cemetery.
