Former New Castle resident Scott Young, age 56, Muncie, died unexpectedly Tuesday March 29, 2022 at his father's home in Muncie.  Born in Hartford City September 13, 1965, he graduated from Delta High School in 1984 and attended The Chef's Academy in Indianapolis.  Scott worked as a chef for several years in various food related establishments.  He was a former Albany Volunteer Fire Department fireman and enjoyed fishing, playing sports, being outdoors, and he loved animals – especially dogs.

Survivors include his father: Steve Young, Muncie, and mother: Diana Young, Anderson; sister: Tina Young, Anderson; step-brother: Chad Henry (wife: Susan), Royerton; step-sister: Angie Himes (husband: Brad), Muncie, and other extended family members.

He is preceded in death by his step-mother, Joey Young.

Visiting hours are Friday April 1, 2022 from 5 until 7 p.m. at Meacham Funeral Service.  Cremation will follow.
