RIDGEVILLE – Scott Marienau, age 60, rural Ridgeville resident, died Friday December 1, 2017 at home surrounded by family following an illness.  Born in Waterloo, Iowa on January 16, 1957, he grew up in the Royerton area and joined the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era.  He spent fourteen years serving his country and afterwards worked in a family-owned rental business in Muncie.  Scott lived in Albany for eleven years and enjoyed hunting, shooting, politics, and gardening.  He attended Poplar Run Baptist Church, Farmland.

Survivors include his wife of nearly thirty-nine years, Nome Marienau; two daughters: Samantha Duncan (husband: Kris), Albany, and Toni Scott, Hagerstown;  two honorary sons: Wayne Loudy, Hagerstown, and Donnie Ullery, Hagerstown; also surviving are six grandchildren: Cody, Darian, Loralei, Luke, Robby, and Levi.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Donald & Dorothy Marienau and two brothers: Timothy Marienau and Steven Marienau.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, December 4, 2017 at Meacham Funeral Service.  Burial will follow at Strong Cemetery with military rites provided by Veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 12 until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be sent to American Legion Post 19, Muncie, for the veterans honor guard fund.
