MUNCIE – Samuel "Sam" Johnson, 52, Muncie, died Saturday July 29, 2017 at Signature Health Care of Muncie.  Born in Anderson on May 25, 1965, he grew up in Gaston and was a graduate of Wes-Del High School.  Sam was a semi truck driver for several years and had also worked for Petro Technologies in Royerton.  He was a hard worker that was always helping others.  He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, and his pitbull "Max".

Survivors include his wife, Kandy Johnson; a son: Andrew Johnson, Muncie; his father: Nickolas Johnson, Terre Haute; his mother: Sharon Gates (husband: David), Summitville; a step-son: Charles E. Stover II, Muncie; two step-daughters: Sandra Stover, Oakville, and Sasha Cole, Michigan; three sisters: Tina Wilson (husband: Bill), Ft. Wayne, Cindy Alexander (husband: Doug), Ohio, and Peggy Helms (husband: Brady), Summitville; also surviving are twelve grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, October 13, 2017 at Dunkirk IOOF Cemetery with Pastor Steve Garrett officiating.
