Obituary
DUNKIRK – Ruth M. Jerles, age 83, formerly of Dunkirk, died Monday morning at Lynd House of Muncie. Born in Economy, IN on Sept. 28, 1928, she went to Economy High School and business college. She worked in dining services at Ball State University for 18 years before retiring in 1995. Ruth was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son: William D. Jerles (wife: Anita), Chuky, TN; a daughter: Vickie L. Cable (husband: Larry), Panama City, FL; a brother: Chester E. Retz (wife: "Ronnie"), AR; 2 sisters: Jane Saunders (husband: Howard), Richmond, and Carol Ann Davis (husband: "Dusty"), Richmond; 6 grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Herman W. Jerles, who died in 2005; also deceased are her parents, a daughter, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Graveside services will begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at Hill Crest Cemetery, Redkey, with burial following.
Memorials may be sent to Fairview United Methodist Church, 11048 W. SR 28, Redkey, IN 47373.
