Roland (Ron) Barker, age 85, Albany, died Friday October 2, 2026 at Albany Health Care & Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness. Born in Illinois on February 27, 1941, he lived the past several years in Albany. Ron was a dedicated police officer with the Albany Police Department for many years. He previously worked at Indiana Bell and was a driver for Eaton EMTs before retiring. Ron was a man of deep faith and belonged to River of Life Church in Muncie and was a proud U.S. Air Force veteran.

Survivors include his beloved wife: Trish Carrette, Albany; step-daughters: Lisa Runyan (husband: Walt), Ashland, AL, and Lori Polk (husband: Bill), Muncie; step-grandchildren: Melissa Bennett (husband: Josh), Lindsey Elvidge, and Cole Runyan; step-great-grandson: Lincoln Bennett, and very special friends: Jeff & Debbie Kirkwood, Eaton.

His parents are deceased.

Visitation will be Wednesday October 7, 2026 from 1 until 3 p.m. at Meacham Funeral Service followed by the funeral ceremony at 3 p.m. Military rites will be provided by Veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard.
