FAIRVIEW – Robert M. Garringer, Sr., age 75, Fairview, died Monday morning at his home following an illness.  Born in Albany on June 28, 1938, he was the son of Roger & Virginia Garringer.  He graduated from Green Township High School in 1956 and was in the Indiana National Guard.  Mr. Garringer worked for over 30 years at A.B.B. in Muncie before retiring in 1996.  He was a member of American Legion Post 167, Albany, and was a Past Master of Anthony Lodge No. 171, F. & A.M.  He enjoyed collecting antiques and attending sales.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Joan Garringer, and their three children: Cindy K. Keller (husband: Brad), Albany, Robert M. Garringer, Jr. (wife: Brigitte), Marietta, GA, and Richard H. Garringer (wife: Kathy), Ridgeville; a sister: Marilyn Hines (husband: Jack), Redkey; 7 grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sue Plough.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday May 9, 2014, at Hopewell Cemetery near Farmland.  Burial will follow.  There will be no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Cancer Services of East Central Indiana (Little Red Door).
