ALBANY - Richard "Dickie" Johnson, age 59, Albany, died Thursday June 9, 2016, at Community Hospital, Anderson, after fighting a year's battle with pancreatic cancer.  Born in Muncie on July 29, 1956, he was a resident of Albany and did auto body work for several years.  He also worked in construction and was in the Indiana National Guard before receiving a medical discharge.

Survivors include two sons: Aaron Johnson (wife: Andrea), Muncie, and Jeremy Johnson, Muncie; a daughter: Christy Atkins (husband: Steve), Muncie; four step-children: Brandy, Brent, Rachael, and Cassandra; a brother: John Johnson, Muncie; four sisters: Barb Kirkland (husband: Jim), Albany, Rosie Marie Spain, Muncie, Peggy Batio (Dave Batio), Albany, Judy Daniel (husband: Charley), Farmland, and Kim Conkright (husband: Chris), Owensboro, KY; a granddaughter: Olivia Ann Johnson; numerous other extended family members, and special friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bob & Sally Johnson; two brothers: Edward and James Johnson, and three sisters: Jeni DeVoe, Robbie Higginbotham, and Myrtie Blevins.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday from 4 until 8 p.m. at Meacham Funeral Service.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Meacham Funeral Service.  Burial will be at Strong Cemetery.
