Rhoda K. Haney, age 84, died Thursday May 9, 2024 at Albany Health Care.  Born in Albany on August 28, 1939, she graduated from Albany High School in 1957 and was a lifelong resident of the town.  Rhoda was an office clerk for various employers in Albany and was a homemaker.  She was a member of DeSoto United Methodist Church where she assisted with Kids Club and VBS.  She enjoyed taking care of her home, watching IU basketball, cooking, and supporting Delta athletics.  In earlier years she belonged to Delta Theta Tau sorority.

Survivors include her husband of nearly 62 years, Hal Haney, whom she married on May 12, 1962 at the Albany Congregational Christian Church; sons: Dirk Haney (wife: Missy), Albany, and Thad Haney (wife: Amy), Winchester; brother: Sheldon Gregg (wife: Barbara), Albany; sister: Pat Gregg, Muncie; grandchildren: Tara Haney (fiancé: Loren) and Olivia Haney (friend: Evan); brother-in-law: Phil Haney, Selma; sisters-in-law: Geri Gregg, Muncie, Janet Haney, Muncie, and several nieces & nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father: Otto Gregg, Sr. and mother: Mary Alice (Locke) Johnson; brothers: Otto "Junior" Gregg, John D. Gregg, and James M. Gregg; sisters: Betty Dillmon, Martha Madison, Helen Hamilton, and Madonna Harshman.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 13, 2024 at DeSoto United Methodist Church with burial following at Union Cemetery, DeSoto.

Calling hours are Sunday from 4 until 7 p.m. at Meacham Funeral Service and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.

Memorials may be sent to the charity of the donor's choice.
