ROYERTON – Pollie R. Hibbard, 84, Royerton, died Saturday December 23, 2017 at home following an illness.  Born Nov. 12, 1933 in Hestand, Kentucky, she grew up there and moved to Indiana near the age of sixteen.  She worked at Ball State University in dining services and housekeeping for a total of eighteen years before retiring in 1997.  Pollie was a member of Ball State Sympathy Club and adored her many grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Roy D. Hibbard; a son: James L. Brown, Sr. (wife: Yvonne), Mooresville; five daughters: Ruby L. Albright (husband: Chuck), Marthasville, MO, Wanda J. Sewell, Muncie, Karen S. Stackhaus (husband: Bill), Muncie, Vicky L. Brown, Whiteland, and Carmelita Seale, Muncie; sixteen grandchildren, forty-one great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father: James Thurman, Sr.; her mother: Ruby C. (Spears) Tinch; four brothers: Wilford Thurman, Maxey Thurman, James Thurman, Jr., and Willis Carman Thurman, and two sisters: Wilma Thurman and Molly Stephens.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Meacham Funeral Service with burial following at Black Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 12 until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
