ALBANY – Peggy (Ketterman) Martin, age 88, Albany, died Sunday afternoon at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital following an illness. Born in Albany on May 27, 1926, she was the daughter of Arthur & Helen (Miller) Ketterman. She attended Albany High School and was a homemaker.
Peggy was a 50+ year member of Albany United Methodist Church where, in earlier years, she sang in the choir and played organ on special occasions. She was a charter member of the Albany/Delaware County Ambulance Service and was a past president of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 167, Albany. She was a former member of the Albany Fireman's Auxiliary and at one time sang with The Sweet Adelines and The Wapahani Four .
Survivors include her daughter, Madeline Bobo (husband: Fred), Paris, IL; 4 grandchildren: Forrest E. Martin, Sacramento, CA, Lawrence L. Dull (wife: Marsha), Terre Haute, Tina M. Dull, Dunkirk, and Michael F. Bobo (wife: Cathy), Brazil; also, 4 great-grandchildren: Zachary Hough, Morgan Dull, Thomas Dull, and Garrett King.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a son, Danny L. Martin.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at Meacham Funeral Service, Albany, with burial following at Strong Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be on Tuesday from 4 until 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
