Peggy Gibbs, age 86, Redkey, died Tuesday October 24, 2023 at home following an extended illness.  Born in Dunkirk on July 28, 1937, she grew up in Redkey and attended Redkey High School.  She was a homemaker and worked at Kerr Glass (now Ardagh), Dunkirk, for over 10 years before retiring.  She was a member of Redkey Community Baptist Church and enjoyed crocheting, word searches, cooking, canning, gardening, flowers, watching birds, and being with her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Allan Gibbs; son: Mark Steven Gibbs, Chicago, IL; daughter: Teresa Ann Hartsock, Maxville; sister: June Lucas, Redkey; grandchildren: Shannon Alford (Tony), Lindsey Patty (Julie), Morgan Bube (Mason), Chance Gibbs (Ashley), and Zachary McIlwain; great-grandchildren: Kole Neal, Ashten Wilt, and Cayden Wilt.

She is preceded in death by son: Chris Gibbs; infant son: Guy Allan Gibbs; daughter: Penny Gibbs; granddaughters: Christie Gibbs and Jenny Wilt, and parents: Chauncey L. & Vera A. (Cochran) Doren.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, October 30, 2023 at First Community Baptist Church, Redkey, with visiting hours from 1 until 2 p.m. on Monday at the church.
