ALBANY – Noah White, age 82, Albany, died Monday morning at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. Born in New Castle, IN, he was the son of Isaac White, Sr. & Mary J. White. He lived in Redkey several years before moving to Albany. Noah retired from Indiana Glass Co. after working there 33 years at the time the factory closed. He also worked for the Town of Albany around 5 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of American Legion Post 167, Albany. He enjoyed fishing, playing poker, and throwing horseshoes.
Survivors include his son: Rick White (wife: Diana), Tullahoma, TN; a step-son: Jerry Metcalf, Albany; 3 step-daughters: Jean Stocker, Albany, Linda Stocker (husband: Fred), Anderson, and Carolyn Bach-Schultz (husband: Craig), Seattle, WA; a brother: Raymond White (wife: Edna), Redkey; a sister: Rosemary Brown, Elwood; 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews with special thanks to Peggy Clark.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Kathryn White, who died in May of 2012. Also deceased are his parents, 2 brothers: Isaac White, Jr. and Wendell White, 2 infant sisters, and a son-in-law: Ed Stocker.
Funeral services will be 6 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2013, at Meacham Funeral Service, Albany, with military rites provided by Veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to the family with envelopes provided at the funeral home.
