Obituary

Nicholas “Nick” Ray Hamilton lived a life defined by service, loyalty, and love for the people around him. Though his passing on May 14, 2026, at the age of 40 came far too soon, the impact he made on his family, friends, fellow veterans, and community will be felt for years to come.

Born in Muncie on October 7, 1985, Nick spent his childhood growing up between Albany and Muncie. He attended Ivy Tech and built a career in sales, but the work that mattered most to him was helping others. As a Veteran’s Coordinator and Program Director with Allied One Solutions Group, Nick dedicated himself to supporting fellow veterans, drawing from his own experiences in military service to connect with and encourage those who needed it most.

Nick proudly served his country in both the Indiana Army National Guard and the U.S. Naval Reserve. During his military career, he deployed to multiple active-duty conflicts, including service during the Iraq War. His commitment and courage earned him the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal while serving as a Boatswain’s Mate Third Class.

Beyond his military accomplishments, Nick was known for the way he cared for people. He was an active member of Glad Tidings Church in Muncie and belonged to the Wounded Veterans Foundation as well as the American Legion posts in New Castle and Yorktown. Whether fishing, bowling, or simply spending time with family and friends, Nick found joy in life’s simple moments. He consistently put the needs of others before his own, offering help whenever it was needed without expecting anything in return.

Of all the roles Nick held in life, being a father was the one he treasured most. He deeply adored his daughter, Vivian, and cherished every moment they shared together. Family was at the center of his life, and his love for them was evident in everything he did.

Nick is survived by his daughter, Vivian Hamilton of Muncie; his father, Steve Hamilton (Joyce) of Albany; his mother, Donna Martin (John) of New Castle; brothers Taylor Hamilton (Jordan) of Muncie and David Fisher (Cierra) of Farmland; sisters Rachael Hamilton of New Castle and Kristen McConnell (Mat) of Albany; his daughter’s mother, Amy Hamilton of Muncie; nieces and nephews including Riley, Clayton, Chance, Mati, Emillia, Laurie, Rondell, Helen, Hadley and Hazel, along with many extended family members and countless friends who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Adaline Hamilton, as well as his grandparents Bill and Nancy Hamilton, Robert Heier, Helen Clark, and Jim Clark.

A celebration of Nick’s life will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Glad Tidings Church in Muncie. Visitation will take place from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., followed by a funeral ceremony with military honors.

Nick will be remembered for his servant’s heart, unwavering patriotism, deep love for his family, and the compassion he showed to everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Memorials may be sent to any local animal shelter of the donor’s choice.
