Misty Ann Beckett, age 42, Muncie, died Saturday January 11, 2025 at home following an illness of 14 years. Born in Muncie on October 14, 1982, she grew up in Albany and lived several years in Hartford City before moving to Muncie. Misty was a 2001 graduate of Muncie Southside High School and she received an Associates Degree from Indiana Business College in 2008.
Misty was actively involved with Relay for Life and the Relay Choir. She attended Albany Christian Church and enjoyed puzzles, making jewelry, hiking, and collecting every conceivable item from her children's upbringing. She was a free spirit who loved being with family and throughout her illness never gave up and never complained. Misty had cancer – cancer did not have her.
Survivors include sons: Matthew Williams, Muncie, and Marshall Williams, Indianapolis; daughter: Elizabeth (Lizzy) Carnes (and Bowyn), Winchester; mom and dad: Reta Marlene (Bell) and Tony Martin, Muncie; father: Daniel Beckett, Frankfort; grandson: David Williams; siblings: Holly Cox (husband: Christopher), Selma, Kayla Beckett, Indianapolis, Shelby Martin, Muncie, Daniel DeWayne Beckett, Muncie, Dilan Beckett (wife: Jenny), Lebanon, Dakota Beckett (wife: Bailey), Jamestown, Heath Buis, Muncie, Tristan Bates (wife: Shannon), Frankfort, and Tim Bates, Frankfort; maternal grandparents: Jack & Charlotte Bell, Dunkirk, and Mike & Shirley Modesitt, Muncie, and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by paternal grandparents: Jim & Evelyn Sherwood and Paul Beckett.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2025 at Albany Christian Church with burial following at Union Cemetery, Eaton.
Visiting hours are Friday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the church.
