ALBANY – Mary E. Watts, age 93, Albany, died Sunday evening at Ball Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Born on October 24, 1916, she was the daughter of Walter A. & Bessie Coahran. Mary graduated from Muncie Central High School and lived most of her life in the Albany area. She worked at the Albany Dime Store for 27 years before retiring. In earlier years she belonged to Order of The Eastern Star Teresa Chapter 237, Albany, and was an attendee of Albany United Methodist Church. She enjoyed roller skating, playing cards, Scrabble, crossword puzzles, crocheting, the Cincinnati Reds and I.U. basketball.

Survivors include a daughter: Carol Capper (fiancé: Jerry Watson), Albany; a son: Charles A. Watts (wife: Linda), Austin, TX; 4 grandchildren: Amy Evans (husband: Tony), Albany, Jennifer Dempsey, AZ, Shawn A. Watts (wife: Peggy), Houston, TX, and Trent A. Watts (wife: Jennifer), Austin, TX; 8 great-grandchildren: Courtney, Kyle, Chelsea, Nathan, Kristopher, Erin, Morgan, and Taylor; 2 special in-laws: Jim Hobson, Albany, and Betty Coahran, Muncie; several nieces & nephews and her beloved cat, Little Bit.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Rigdon F. Watts, 2 daughters: Claudia Jean Watts who died in infancy and Marjorie A. Hobson; 3 brothers: Bob, Jack, and John Coahran, and a sister: Donna Lopeman.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 23, 2010, at Meacham Funeral Service, Albany, with burial following at Strong Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 5 until 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
