Former Albany resident Marilyn J. Zearbaugh, 92, more recently of Avon, died Tuesday December 24, 2024 at Hendricks Regional Health Danville Hospital. Born in Bluffton on October 29, 1932, she grew up there and was a 1950 graduate of Bluffton High School. Marilyn attended Purdue University and Indiana University (Indianapolis) for radiology. She was an X-ray technician for 2 years at Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie, and with her husband owned & operated Kream Kup in Albany for 25 years.
She was a member of DeSoto United Methodist Church, Albany Tri Kappa, Albany Library Book Club, Muncie Evening Quilt Guild, a 50-year member of Kitchen Queens home economics club, and 60+ year member and Past Worthy Matron of Order of The Eastern Star (originally from Teresa Chapter 237, Albany, now Halfway Chapter 230, Redkey). Marilyn was an E.M.T. and volunteered for the Albany Ambulance Service. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, reading, gardening, and tending to her flowers.
Survivors include her daughters: Susan Lesko (husband: Matthew, deceased), Elburn, IL, Christy Pirone (husband: Ralf), Adelaide, South Australia, and Jennifer Warren (husband: Barry), Speedway; daughter-in-law: Phyllis Zearbaugh, Avon; sister: Kay Dull, Tulsa, OK; grandchildren: Amanda Laurie (husband: Brian), Amanda Pirone, Jessica Pirone, Sophie Pirone, Adam Warren, and Maggie Warren; great-grandchildren: Ella Hanlon, Keely Hanlon, Millie Hanlon, Evelyn Laurie, Jack Laurie, and her service dog: Harley.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Clayton Augustus Zearbaugh, who died in 2019; son: Earl Martin "Marty" Zearbaugh; parents: Earl & Mary (Hoy) Lounsbury; granddaughter: Sara Frigge, and brother: Earl Thomas Lounsbury.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, December 29, 2024 at Meacham Funeral Service with burial following at Strong Cemetery.
Visiting hours are Sunday from 1 until 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
