Obituary

ALBANY - Marie Ball, age 90, died Saturday evening at Miller's Merry Manor, Dunkirk, from natural causes.  Born in Jay County on March 28, 1924, she graduated from Redkey High School in 1942.  She lived in Royerton and moved to rural Albany before moving into Albany in 2006 .  She was a homemaker who taught piano for over a decade and was an active member of Redkey Church of The Nazarene where she was pianist, principal organist, Sunday school teacher, and missionary president.

Survivors include two sons: Warren D. "Sonny" Ball (wife: Nancy), Gaston, and Greg Ball (wife: Kim), Redkey; a sister-in-law: June Lucas, Redkey; two grandchildren: Alan Ball and Clayton Ball; three great-grandchildren: Lorelei, Luke, and Kyla; several nieces & nephews, and several great-nieces & nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Warren H. Ball, who died in 1989.  Also deceased are her parents: Leora & Ica Chittum; a granddaughter: Kayla Ball; two brothers: Bob & Max Chittum, and two sisters: Ruth Tighe & Virginia Morris.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at Meacham Funeral Service, Albany, with burial following at Hill Crest Cemetery, Redkey.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 5 until 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
