Former Dunkirk resident Margaret L. (Cookie) Faulkner, age 80, Ft. Wayne, died Thursday November 21, 2024 following an extended illness.  Born in Havre de Grace, Maryland on August 3, 1944, she grew up in Dunkirk and was a 1962 graduate of Dunkirk High School.  She also attended Ivy Tech and Ball State University.  Cookie worked in administration with Magnavox/Raytheon for nearly 40 years, retiring in 2004.  In earlier years she worked at Stewart Bros., Dunkirk.

Over the years, Cookie belonged to Red Hat Society, Elks Lodge, American Legion Auxiliary, the Dunkirk Alumni Association, and Sigma Phi Gamma – Eti Chi Chapter, Dunkirk.  She participated in American Cancer Society Relay for Life charity walks (as a survivor) and enjoyed spending time at the lake and tending to her home and yardwork.

Survivors include her brothers: Joe Faulkner (significant other: Susan Hartling), Indianapolis, James B. Faulkner (wife: Judy), Dunkirk, and Craig Faulkner (wife: Stephanie), Dunkirk; nieces & nephews: John, Jennifer, Stacy, Shelley, and Tiffany; also, 12 great-nieces & nephews.

Her parents, Paul William and Miriam Lois "Lopie" Faulkner, are deceased.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place.  Graveside services and celebration of life will be held at a later date.
