Lu Ann Whitehair, age 71, Albany, died Monday October 21, 2024 at Bethel Pointe Health & Rehabilitation Center, Muncie.  Born in Muncie on July 31, 1953, she grew up there and was a 1971 graduate of Southside High School.  Lu Ann earned an Associate Degree in Business from Ball State University and worked at the college as an administrative assistant in the College of Urban Planning.  She retired after 30+ years of employment.

Lu Ann was a talented seamstress; she loved sewing, crocheting, cooking, and taking care of her beloved dog, Ocie.

Survivors include sons: Bradley Shroyer, Washington Township, MI, and Ryan Shroyer, Indianapolis; grandchildren: Sophia, Ali, Jackson, Myles, Oscar, Hazel, Madeline, and Barrett.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Richard "Dick" Whitehair, who died September 11, 2024, and her parents: Robert G. Garrett and Joyce E. (Mingle) Garrett Grim.

The funeral will begin at 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at Meacham Funeral Service with burial following at Strong Cemetery.

Visiting hours are Thursday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
