EATON – Lorie (Harvey) Harbison, age 52, Eaton, died Saturday Dec. 29, 2012, at home following an illness. Born in Marion on May 8, 1960, she grew up in the Muncie/Cowan area and later moved near Eaton in 1981. She graduated from Daleville High School in 1978 and received a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from Ball State University. She was working on completing her Master's degree at Ball State until becoming ill. Lorie was working as a dialysis nurse at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital and had worked there for 31 years. She was a Certified Nephrology Nurse, an American Heart Association Instructor, and a member of Sigma Theta Tau – Nursing Honorary and Delaware County Master Gardeners.
Survivors include her husband of 31 years, James "Jim" Harbison; 3 sons: James E. Harbison (wife: Keri), Yorktown, Michael Harbison, Eaton, and Cary Harbison, Eaton; a brother: Todd Harvey (wife: Tawni), Chesterfield; her "second dad" James E. Cox, Daleville; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father: Terrence Eugene Harvey; her mother: Martha Jane (Comer) Cox, and a sister: Diana Curtis.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2013, at Meacham Funeral Service, Albany. Cremation will follow.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be sent to the charity of the donor's choice.
