MUNCIE – Linda Sue (Scott) Janney, age 73, died Sunday morning at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.  Born in Delaware County on June 13, 1952, she grew up in the county and was a 1970 graduate of Delta High School.  She was a homemaker and worked several years for the athletic office at Delta as a ticket taker – something she thoroughly enjoyed for around twenty years.  Linda retired from Townsend Tree Service where she worked as a secretary.

She was the current President (and Past President) of Albany Lions Club and a former Home Economics club member.  Linda enjoyed gardening, attending Delta athletic events, and as a 10-year member of 4-H she was involved for several years at the Delaware County Fair.

Survivors include her husband, Jack L. Janney, who she married in 2005; son: Marc Johnson (wife: Kresta), Fishers; daughter: Michelle Cunningham (husband: Randy), Upland; brothers: Jim Scott (wife: Maggie), Muncie, Joe Scott, Muncie, Jerry Scott (wife: Tracy), Albany, and Jay Scott, Muncie; grandchildren: Derek, Gaven, Griffen, and Abbi; great-grandchild: Jaxson; step-son: Jack A. Janney; step-daughters: Tracy Pittenger, Gaston, and Vicki Howser, Knightstown; several nieces & nephews and step-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her daughter: Susan Ledbetter; grandson: Shane Ledbetter; great-grandson: Gaige Cunningham, and parents: James T. "Ted" & Juanita (Strahan) Scott.

Visitation will be from 4 until 6 p.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at Albany Christian Church with funeral ceremony to follow at 6 p.m.  Attendees can honor Linda's last request by wearing jeans to her services.
